This is a tea from China. These handmade tea balls consisting of green and white tea are knotted together to create a smallish ball with a fragrance and taste of jasmine. The balls open up like a flower budding when submerged in the warm tea water. Used a clear glass mug or cup for the maximum experience.
This tea tastes best alone without any additions.
Steeping guidelines: Use only fresh cold water. Use 1 tsp tea/cup + 1 for the pot. If using a clam-shell infuser barely fill one of the halves. Bring water to 160F. Steep time 2-3 minutes. Is is a good idea to use a "reverse steep" with green tea to get the most out of its delicate flavor. Reverse steep means to add the tea to the water rather than pour the water over the tea. This way the tea leaves warm up more slowly which protects its delicate flavor. If tea is too strong or too weak adjust the steeping time, not the amount.
