Green Sencha Genmaicha
Genmaicha means roasted brown rice and tea in japanese. The roasted rice mixed with classical sencha makes a fresh grassy cup of tea with intense notes of roasted rice. It tastes good just as it is and also makes a good accompanyment to meals such as sushi.
3.75 oz package. Makes 50 - 70 cups tea. Shipping is FREE.
Steeping guidelines: Use only fresh cold water. Use 1 tsp tea/cup + 1 for the pot. If using a clam-shell infuser barely fill one of the halves. Bring water to 160F. Steep time 2-3 minutes. Is is a good idea to use a "reverse steep" with green tea to get the most out of its delicate flavor. Reverse steep means to add the tea to the water rather than pour the water over the tea. This way the tea leaves warm up more slowly which protects its delicate flavor. If tea is too strong or too weak adjust the steeping time, not the amount.
