Black tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. The leaves are dried and fermented, which gives the tea a darker color and richer flavor than green tea (which does not undergo the fermentation process). Pure black tea without additional flavoring is sometimes called "original tea". These are often mixed together to create teas such as English Breakfast for example. Our flavored teas are original teas that have all natural fruit, floral or spices added. Depending on how strong it's brewed, black tea contains about 60 - 90 mg of caffeine per cup. By comparison, green tea contains 35 - 70 mg per cup, while coffee contains 100 - 250 mg. Amount of caffeine will vary according to strength of brew. And strenght of brew will vary with steeping time.
